There is a common misconception that the word Cenegenics® is a medical term synonymous with hormone replacement therapy, or HRT.
Often when people are searching for the benefits of hormone replacement therapy, they come up with Cenegenics®. This has led a number of HRT patients to believe that Cenegenics is “hormone replacement therapy.”
Cenegenics is nothing more than the name of a popular provider of hormone therapy; that’s all. There is nothing necessarily better or worse about getting HRT from a Cenegenics provider, or any other provider of HRT.
What we would like HRT patients, and potential HRT patients to know, is that there are Cenegenics alternatives out there, and that Cenegenics programs tend to be more expensive than other providers of hormone replacement therapy.
Other Misunderstandings about Hormone Replacement Therapy
Confusing the word “cenegenics” with “HRT,” is not the only misunderstanding that continues about hormone therapy.
Despite a wealth of new information, a lot of confusion about Hormone Replacement Therapy, remains. In particular women, are still unclear about the alleged risks of HRT. This is unfortunate, because HRT is still the single most effective treatment we have to help women with the most debilitating symptoms of menopause. Despite the fact that old studies that once linked HRT to an increased risk of heart disease and breast cancer have been proven false, many women still avoid HRT.
Too many women suffer with night sweats, mood swings, hot flashes, and sexual wellness issues, all because they still believe many myths about HRT.
Setting the Record Straight on HRT
Nothing is more important to the way you think, feel and perform, than your hormones. Hormones are little chemical messengers that basically control just about every bodily function.
As you get older, the levels of critical hormones all decline. In women, that drop is most significant as you approach and enter menopause. Specifically, the “sex” hormones estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone, all radically drop. This drop is what causes the most unbearable symptoms of menopause in women, and the equally debilitating symptoms of low testosterone, or “Low-T,” in men.
HRT literally means “hormone replacement therapy.” Basically it is a way of “replacing” what time and nature take away.
HRT is generally safe. However, it is not a “one size fits all,” approach. This is another issue that many take with Cenegenics. We have heard that they tend to provide the same hormone treatment plan to most of their patients.
HRT should be tailored to your specific needs. Also, the most effective form of HRT uses bioidentical hormones. Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy, or BHRT uses hormones created from all natural sources that are exact duplicates – molecule-for-molecule – as the hormones produced by your own body. Bioidentical hormones are safer, and better tolerated than the synthetic hormones produced by drug manufacturers.
