The signs and symptoms of low HGH are often mistaken for just “getting older.”
HGH is a critical hormone to so many bodily functions. As you probably can tell from the name, HGH is what helps you to grow from a child to and adult. But it does so much more than that. It is HGH that actually keeps your cells strong and vital. As you lose HGH, and have low HGH levels you may:
- Feel tired
- Feel depressed
- Feel weak
- Feel irritable
- Have trouble sleeping
- Have trouble losing weight, and building muscle even while working out
- Have a drop in sexual desire or sexual performance
Does that list sound a lot like the symptoms of “ageing?” There could be a very good reason for that!
Declining HGH and Ageing
There is an avenue of research that now suggests that HGH is not only related to some of the loss of energy and strength that happens as you grow older, but its decline may actually trigger the aging process.
How is this so? We commonly believe that the damage to the body we think of as “aging” – weakness, fatigue, aches, pains etc. – is primarily caused by wear and tear. But, the reason most of us are so significantly weaker and frailer in our 60s then in our 20s has less to do with the damage done, than with your body’s ability to repair that damage.
Human Growth Hormone is responsible for growing new cells as you physically grow from child to adult. After that, your body continues to produce HGH, not so you can grow to giant proportions, but so you can continue to produce new cells to replace dying, dead, and damaged ones.
HGH is essential for healing. As you get older, it isn’t that you are doing more damage over time to your body causing the problem – it is the lowered level of HGH that lowers your body’s ability to produce new cells. So you can see how optimizing your levels of HGH can improve vitality and longevity.
HGH Replacement Therapy
In 1991, the New England Journal of Medicine published one of the first studies to test the effects of HGH injections on aging. The study was conducted using elderly men. Lead researcher on the study, Dr. Daniel Rudman, concluded, “We reversed 10 to 20 years of the aging process. We saw fat diminished, muscle tissue increased, and better bone density.”
Patients in this and later studies, also reported a “general feeling of better health,” as evidenced by quality of life scores.
Like any hormone replacement therapy, HGH replacement therapy is not without its risks and controversies. There have been side effects reported with the use of HGH, such as joint pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, and an increased risk of diabetes.
However it is important to point out that such side-effects usually occurred with people who were abusing HGH, and/or having it administered by unqualified professionals, or having obtained it from disreputable sources.
You can only obtain real growth hormone with a doctor’s prescription. Any one attempting to sell you growth hormone, or any product that claims to contain “growth hormone” or HGH that you can buy without a prescription, cannot by law contain any real growth hormone.
Which is all the more reason why anyone over 40 who is experiencing symptoms that may be related to low HGH – fatigue, weight gain, sleep disruption – seek the advice of qualified medical professionals who are experienced with the symptoms of low HGH, and the proper administration of Human Growth Hormones.
